First time user -- I was a little anxious about the whole process. It is a challenge to get the back but doable. Somewhat messy and it did take me a long time to do my whole head but I'm sure I'll get quicker the more I do it. Super customer service and easy access to speak with a very helpful colorist. My hair is soft and shiny. Will definitely keep using this product especially since it's 1/3 the cost of going to a salon + no tip. I hope I'm as satisfied when I try doing my highlights.
I've always wanted to try eSalon. And, with the current Covid crisis, I knew it was the perfect time. Easy to use. Called for phone support. The color looks great. I might even try the highlight kit. Wish me luck!

All my color mixes have been excellent, and the customer service/attention to detail has been spectacular. I was especially impressed when a colorist reached out after I had trouble discerning which level my hair is (light brown, medium brown, etc.), because they thought my picture didn't quite match what I selected. Friends always comment on how natural my hair looks. I don't hide that I colour it. Never wanted unnatural colours so this is perfect. And I love that the colour very closely matches my salon colour.
Was easier to do then I thought. I did all over color due to social distancing and salons closed. It could use some high lights for some dimension but I don’t think I can do them myself. Covered my roots well. So many options and the price was right. I would purchase again for touch ups because of ease and definitely the price.
This was the first time I have ever colored my hair myself. I was extremely nervous but eSalon made choosing the color very easy. I completed my profile, attached a picture and the next thing I know I received notification on shipping. I received the package and again was hesitant but watched several of the how-to videos provided so I felt well-informed. Then I colored it and the results were fantastic! Great overall coverage (even for my stubborn grays) and color matched my skin tone. This might just be my go forward post quarantine.
I communicated with my color specialist regarding my color, which I loved, but my grey roots were showing up too quickly with my darker color. My color specialist added some more golden highlights and it was wonderful. My grey roots did not start showing up for four weeks plus! Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
This turned out so much better than I had hoped. I’ve had several people ask me who colored my hair during lock-down. Really pleased. Whole two color process was around 30 minutes and it looks great!
I’m a hair color dummy, truly. I tried to do research on how to get my bleached hair back to my natural dark brown color but all the toning and pigment adding really confused me. A lot of the reviews I kept reading was about covering grays or just boosting color, but if you’re trying to freshen up your out grown bleached hair.. this is worth it! Everything is customized for you and the instructions .. they are detailed. I love how you can also buy everything else you may need on the site. The color was exactly what I wanted. Not going to lie.. I messed up on a strand on the inside section because I didn't blend enough in that section (for some ODD reason) but it’s not too visible. You’ll always mess up a little during your first try right.... ?

My first time ever coloring my own hair so I was very apprehensive. Instructions were easy to follow and application was easy enough but some guesswork for me. Shampoo and conditioner are really nice. My hair was full (not normal), soft and smooth, and did not need washed again for 4 days which never happens! Pleasantly surprised with the results.
With COVID-19, I was prevented from going to my salon. My appointment was the day before the "stay at home" restriction, so I was looking bad. I submitted my pictures and my color came out perfect. So well that I think I'll begin doing my root touch-ups myself. Great instructions. My hair came out soft and shiny.
The color is great- dare I say as good if not better then pro hair salon color not to mention my hair feels healthier and more natural. I think there is no going back to spending so much money going to a hair salon. Will try high-lighting with color next round. Even my discriminating fashionable adult daughter was very impressed. I was skeptical at first, for sure. I didn't think I would like the auto ship thing either but to my surprise, the color that I was sent is perfect in every way. I am very impressed with how the color came out . I sent in my before photos and guessed on my color. The colorist did a great deciding on the color. I am a huge fan now and will use for future root touch ups.
Overall I am very impressed. The root touch-up color turned out very well especially not knowing what to initially pick. The colorist matched it just how I wanted it. I will definitely buy again in the future!
I was a little intimidated at first so my daughter helped me since this was the first time I did this myself, and I was very surprised how well it came out and no running color left on my scalp. I will definitely order again and their tutorials really helped.

Was really sceptical as first time used a home colour in a long time was so surprised so easy to use instruction clear ( no jargon!) colour just slightly darker but that was my doing the condition of hair left soft and shiny felt like I’d been to the salon .........wished you could do online cuts too!
ESALON was quick on shipping and the color was beautiful and matched my current color exactly. I tried ordering from another company (Madison Reed) and they took FOREVER to send my color and it was delay after delay and their color isn’t as vibrant as ESALONs color!!!! My grey roots were looking awful as I was supposed to go to the Salon the day after lockdown was announced.
I came across Esalon on YouTube and completed my profile. All the time feeling sceptical due to never having coloured hair before.
Delivery was fast and the directions are really clear.
I just wanted to get rid of my grey roots and that’s exactly what it did. I do think it’s a good idea to upload a photo of yourself.
The thought of not knowing when Salon’s are going to be able to open was filling me with anxiety but now I’ve found this amazing company, I feel happy and confident again.

I've had my hair colored and highlighted in a salon for years. I wanted to only color my roots but was very hesitant to try it myself. I ordered a dark blonde and it was the perfect color. Results were great and I still have my highlights. Definitely will use it again. Don't hesitate to try it.

The way I understand it, you fill out a pretty thorough questionnaire indicating your current hair color vs the color you would like. A licensed cosmetologist mixes your color. I ordered it April 22nd and got it April 27th.
Application was easy. Hubby had to help because I have crazy long hair.
It doesn’t stain your skin the way store bought dye does. They do give you a barrier type cream and it seriously works!
It seems to have really covered up my old highlights (for now... let’s see how/if it fades).
My hair didn’t fall out in handfuls when I washed out the dye. It normally does with store bought.
Their shampoo smells heavenly. Apples?
My hair is now CRAZY soft.
I am 500% pleased with this product and will likely be ordering again!
Color is fantastic and even better after one shampoo and using the conditioner in package! Also the smell is really nice too! Not brassy at all and this is what was a concern; however a bit more buttery color would be nice. I thought I would add that with the highlighter kit!
I was blown away by the exactness of the color match. My hair is naturally brownish red with a lot of grays and I typically have the roots dyed darker with honey highlights added throughout. With the COVID stay-at-home orders I couldn’t go to the salon. My goal was root touch up only and that was achieved!
My natural hair color is something that I could never find on a department store shelf. My kids both have very similar hair color to my natural hair and after using this color, I was able to hold a strand of my hair up to my daughters and it matched! I am very happy!

It is amazing to see how well the color product blends so well with previously colored hair. The root touch-up worked perfectly. I feel this was successful because of the important step of "all over" color in the final stage just before washing. Have been coloring my hair in between salon treatments for 30 years and this is the best product I have ever used. I asked for a color tweak because my salon stylist had darkened my hair and the result from e-salon was perfect. Thank you!

This not only gives you a great experience in defining your personal colour but is a brilliant product, from mixing and applying the thick lush dye to washing off and blow drying- brilliant! No more greys, shiny, healthy looking and feeling hair.
This is a game changer for the gal that likes the DIY. I'm done with spending 3x the price at the salon to get the same result that I get with eSalon. Overall I like the product. It was a true medium blonde. My roots are a bit brassy and didn’t lighten as much as I wanted (you can still see them faintly) but it’s better than it was for sure. I like the color through the rest of my hair, and you can still see some of my previous highlights coming through. I plan to use again and maybe have it toned cooler and maybe darker so my roots blend more easily and with less brassiness. I have a purple shampoo I plan to use to see if that helps a bit.
This color is so easy to do yourself. Not harsh or too dark. I was concerned that what I selected would be too dark because traditional box color always is. I called esalon and spoke with a colorist and was confident that I would get exactly what I needed. esalon really does this right.
I was so scared if color would match since this is my first time coloring my own hair since I usually go to salon, but It was easy and color looks amazing! And usually color burns on my head not this one!!! Thank you love it!!!!

Stopped doing my own hair color a long time ago. And now with this Coronavirus, all salon closed . They grey was creeping up and the powder and spray color wasn’t cutting it. So I decided to try doing my hair at home again. Well to my surprise I loved everything about my color. So now I’m on auto shipment 🚚.

One suggestion would be to include plastic hair clips. The instructions say not to use metal.
I like the esalon color kit. It includes everything that you need to color your hair at home. Normally I do use a salon, but because of the pandemic I am coloring my hair at home and the color kit matches my salon color very closely. I would recommend it if you’re debating coloring your hair at home.
I was very skeptical to doing this whole color blonde roots at home. Most hair colors don’t match and end up looking blotchy. This was a perfect match!! No blotchiness and it looks like my roots were touched up by a professional. Perfect product to use while salons are closed down during this covid pandemic. Absolutely spot on with colour I was having at salon, if not better 🙊 Honestly it was exact, instructions were very easy to follow, I’ve watched my stylist do it so many times but doing it myself was nerve wracking, I was really pleased with the out come . Shampoo and conditioner are fab, I’ve just added full-size to my plan, lovely smell to it and leaves hair feeling super clean. For my next order I’ve asked for more copper. Definitely recommend esalon.
Just go for it! The color was just right! I was so skeptical...I've been going to a Salon for my base color every 4 weeks and always highlighting every other visit! My hair is light blonde with lots of highlights. During this crazy pandemic my roots popped out. They were all gray/white along my hairline and the rest of the roots where very dark with lots of gray mixed in. Not a great look! It was so easy to do...I watched an eSalon YouTube tutorial just to put me at ease. My BF helped with the back but I could do it myself with more practice. I was a bit nervous as the 30 min. ticked by... my roots looked super dark as it oxidized, so I cut it short 5 min because I panicked! But Don't leave it on! The color covered the Gray and the Dark Roots! It looks Great just like the Salon! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! It's Amazing How much better I feel just for doing my roots. Next, I'm going to try the Highlighting! Cant wait for the next shipment!!

When I started applying the color I thought oh no way to dark/ it looked black while it was processing, but after I waited the allotted time ,washed it out and blew it dry it was the perfect rich chocolate Brown I’ve always wanted. Perfection
