The GreatestI used this dye for the first time yesterday, and I am in love. I was using madison Reed which did OK but decided to try Esalon because I was curious in the difference between them. OMG Esalon is way way better. They send you way more in a pack and my first box I got for 11.00. Madison Reed don't even send you no packet of shampoo and conditioner and no dye remover or pre dye packet you put on so dye doesn't stain. My hair turned out phenomenal. Flawless and dependable as always!I’ve colored 5 times with e salon. I was originally a client with another mail order color company that went out of business. One of the other very popular mail order companies didn’t have colors in the range that appealed to me, so esalon won my business and has kept me coming back with excellent customer service. This time I emailed back and forth quite a bit with a representative because I wanted to go darker. I’m so impressed with how quickly they respond and how helpful they are. Id have gone too dark if I’d chosen the color myself. If I could change one thing, I wish the color lasted longer on my gray roots, but we have crazy hard water that’s softened which I know is a downer for color, so all things considered, it’s the longest lasting I’ve found. 0 of 1 people found this review helpful. Not the color I had hoped forI had requested a copper/auburn color in level 5. My hair turned out to be so dark and more brown than anything (almost like a cherry cola). I also lost a tremendous amount of hair. I asked for a full refund and to stop my service, which in 2 days I got a reply to. The response I got in regard to the hair loss was that it was not normal, and I should see a doctor. Like, what? I have died my hair for the last 20 some years, and have NEVER had hair loss like that. It is clearly something to do with the formula, and not something to see a doctor about. Also, the health care system is burdened, why on earth would ANYONE suggest going to the doctor for post hair dye hair loss. As someone working in Healthcare, this is not a reason to come in. In reality, esalon should take accountability. Additionally, because my hair ended up so dark, I had to lighten it, and then dye it the shade I wanted to begin with. I had chemicals in my hair 3x vs 1x had this actually been the color requested. Don't waste your time or money. Go to the salon ir buy boxed dye. The funny thing is that after leaving my review, a support person reached out with the same auto generated comment that my initial hair color comment also received.
